Funds - Every $1 donated provides two nutritious meals for kids in need. Donate online to see how your gift will directly impact our community. You can feed a classroom, a playground, or an entire school in a matter of seconds.
Food - View our child-friendly list of most-needed foods. Please avoid donating bulk items or items packed in glass. Add value to your food donation by delivering it to one of our warehouses located in San Jose or San Carlos. Or run a drive and we will pick up the food!
Run a Drive
Only together will we end local childhood hunger, so gather your co-workers, classmates, students, fellowship members, friends, and family, and challenge each of them to feed 20 children by donating $10! Your drive can last anywhere from one day to one month. Coordinating a drive is easy, in fact you can run it all online.
Enroll in the Share Your Lunch campaign and start feeding children today! The enrollment process is a very important step. It allows your group to donate online and order promotional materials and supplies.
Support
To support your drive we offer a variety of resources such as:
- Virtual Food Drive - Direct your participants to our online donation portal to make a donation to your drive! You can also check your progress and see how many children your drive is helping feed.
- Talking Points (PDF) - Use these talking points when informing participants of the need in our area and the impact they can have.
- General Food & Fund Drive Site - This is a site created just for you. You will find a wealth of information on coordinating drives, including ideas on how to get people motivated to participate or learn from other coordinators who have run successful drives in the past.
- Donor Hotline - if you have any questions or experience any challenges with your drive, call us at 866-234-3663, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Free Food Drive Supplies
To help you spread the word about your drive, we offer several kinds of promotional materials:
- Barrels: Use these to collect donations for your drive. Second Harvest delivers and picks up your collected donations at no cost to you!

- Promotional cards: Distribute these lunchbox-shaped cards that give participants easy instructions on all of the ways they can contribute. Promo cards include our donor hotline number, and they serve as a shopping list for our most-needed foods.

- Lapel Stickers: Wear and share these stickers as an easy way to spread the word and let people know that you shared your lunch!
