The Virtual Race is on!

The 2012 Virtual Race to End Hunger raised an incredible $431,360.30! Congratulations to Cisco for winning in Overall Giving and Cypress Semiconductor for winning the Per Capita prize! Of course, the real winners are the nearly quarter of a million people we're serving every month... because we'll be able to provide 826,721 additional meals to local families in need thanks to the 2012 Virtual Race to End Hunger. Thanks to all the generous employees who participated!

Dates: Tuesday 11/13/12 at Noon – Thursday 11/15/12 at 11:59 AM
Goal: To raise $300,000 online in 48 hours (that's 600,000 meals to feed the hungry!)

What is the 48-Hour Virtual Race to End Hunger?

The Virtual Race is an online challenge that rallies employees at Silicon Valley companies to support Second Harvest in providing food to a quarter of a million of our neighbors in need.

Great Prizes

The company with the highest cumulative donation wins a free fuel sponsorship — their corporate logo will be featured on a food delivery truck for one year.

The company with the highest per capita donation (average donation per local employee/contractor) also wins a free fuel sponsorship for one year.

The individual who makes the largest contribution will receive a San Francisco 49ers VIP package: 4 pre-game field passes, 1 VIP parking pass, and 4 tickets to a mutually agreed-upon 2013 home game.

Participation

Participation is easy! Once a company is registered, the employees have 48 hours to support their corporation's efforts to end local hunger.

The standings PDF will be refreshed every 10 minutes during the race to show the current leaders. Please note that you will have to refresh your browser to view the latest results; otherwise you will be viewing a cached report.

Rules

In order to participate, companies must be registered. Sorry, registration is now closed.

The Virtual Race runs from Tuesday, 11/13/12 at 12:00 noon until Thursday, 11/15/12 at 11:59 AM. There are no exceptions to the time frame; any donations received before or after this time period do not count towards the 48-Hour Virtual Race.

Only individual employee donations made at https://donate.shfb.org/vfd/ will be counted; stocks and other off-line gifts do not count. Corporate contributions are not included in totals, although many companies offer a corporate match or double match to spur individual giving during the race.

Just as our coaches provide the players with all the necessary tools to succeed on game day, we owe it to the less fortunate in our community to provide them with the most basic need of all: food. Join me in giving what matters this holiday season and donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.
