Kathryn Eden
Chief of Staff
Kathryn Eden joined Second Harvest of Silicon Valley in 2021 as the food bank’s first Chief of Staff to the CEO. In this role, she is accountable for maximizing the CEO’s effectiveness by ensuring Leslie has the time, space, and information she needs to effectively address the most important strategic issues facing the organization. Kathryn also works with the Executive team on decision making, planning and performance, and she leads a number of cross-functional strategic initiatives.
Most of Kathryn’s career before coming to Second Harvest was spent in marketing & communications roles in for-profit companies. Most recently, she worked at Stanford University as Director of Change Management for the university’s External Relations organization and as a Process Excellence coach for leaders of the School of Medicine. Kathryn was thrilled when the opportunity came to put her skills and experience to work for her community as a member of Second Harvest’s Executive Team.
Kathryn earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Leadership Studies and Psychology from University of Richmond and her MBA from Babson’s FW Olin School of Business. She lives in San Mateo County and spends as much time as possible outdoors with her husband and two kids and their two dogs.
