Dr. Lisa Goldman Rosas is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health and the Department of Medicine (Division of Primary Care and Population Health) in the Stanford School of Medicine. An epidemiologist by training, Lisa leverages her expertise in patient and community engagement as well as behavioral science to address inequities in chronic diseases such as diabetes, depression and cancer, and has collaborated with Second Harvest’s nutrition team on an obesity and food insecurity study. Her work is supported by the National Institutes of Health, Agency for Health Care Research and Quality, the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute, and the California Initiative to Advance Precision Medicine, among other funders.

Lisa is passionate about integrating patients, caregivers, community organizations and other key stakeholders in the research process to affect the greatest improvements in health equity. As a reflection of this passion, she serves as Director for the School of Medicine Office of Community Engagement and Associate Director of Cancer Health Equity and Community Engagement in the Stanford Cancer Institute. Lisa joined the Second Harvest Board in 2021 because she thinks food insecurity is one of the most important challenges to achieving health equity. She was born and raised in Palo Alto and continues to reside there with her husband, three children, a dog and lots of plants.
