In addition to the quality food Second Harvest of Silicon Valley rescues from large-scale growers and retail establishments, we also receive food donations from the California Association of Food Banks’ Farm to Family program. This program secures excess produce from California’s fields and delivers it to food banks throughout the state. It has been a tremendous help in supplying nutritious fresh produce we distribute to neighbors in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties and is just one part of our work to prevent food waste and fight climate change.
